Review | Shu Uemura mini eyelash curler
I’ve said this before, I know, but eyelash curlers would be one of my Desert Island beauty items, right after tweezers and mascara. Nothing does more to help widen your eyes, and a good pair of eyelash curlers have the power to make even a mediocre mascara look like a great one.
Now, Shu Uemura are well known for being the best in the business when it comes to eyelash curlers, but, weirdly, I didn’t actually own a pair,so when I saw these mini curlers at Sephora, I just had to have them.
The idea here is that the smaller-sized curler allows much greater precision, letting you get at those awkward corners and make sure that no lash goes un-curled. They’re probably best used in conjunction with regular sized curlers, to give a bit of extra "ooomph" to your look, but I’ve been using them on their own, and they can be used that way too, although it can be a bit tricky to do this as you have to basically curl your lashes in sections, and it can be hard to get at one section without crushing the bit you’ve just curled.
That said, I can say that these definitely deserve their reputation. They create a strong, precise curl that will last for hours (I use waterproof mascara over the top to hold it in place), and although I’ve only been using them for a couple of months, which isn’t a great test, so far they still seem as good as new.
As with all my curlers, I give them a quick blast with my hairdryer before use to make the curl even more defined. Just make sure you don’t overdo it, or you’ll damage the lash…
