Hope you enjoy "Sunshine on Leith" – everyone says it is really good, and even better than the first time around – when it won lots of awards.

We are just back from Dundee Rep's other Christmas Show "Beauty and the Beast" which was probably the best Christmas show I have seen – critics deservedly giving it 5 stars.

That really sucks. Especially the part about being sick on vacay. Though I can fully relate to That Which Shall Not Be Named (rhymes with bold spore), they always attack me at the WORST time. The flu shot only helps with certain strains of the flu, so you can still get sick. You can also get sick from the flu shot itself, since they are injecting a virus into your system. I'm totally with you on the getting sick during vacation thing. I got chicken pox during summer break for preschool, and a number of other things; also always got sores in my mouth before and during summer vacations when I was little, which the doc said was because I was so excited (BAH!). I've been relatively good this month though, knock on wood... Definitely go for the flu shot, however you have to get it. I've never gotten one (cause they always pick the wrong strain to give to people here, so I figure why bother?), but they save a lot of lives, and presumably sanity. Amber… God, that all just sucks, really badly. Poor you!

I get the flu jab on the NHS (asthma, as Alex mentioned above) but they're pretty liberal with it. When I went in to get mine, I mentioned how Paul always gets really ill and I feel guilty, and the doctor offered to give him one too. I guess it's easier for them to give the jab than deal with people wanting antibiotics that won't work.

If you can't get it, Asda do it for about £13 I used to get it before the asthma diagnosis, I figured it was only the same as a couple of bottles of Sudafed!

I know some people who get the jab because their asthmatic… I don't suppose you could go into the surgery wheezing…? *I didn't really suggest that*

Having had just one bout of this PURE EVIL which started, of course, on my wedding day, I have nothing but sympathy for you. I hope every day of January (and beyond) is suitably healthy!

We're off to Ballachulish tomorrow… let's see if we can get through a honeymoon without testing the 'sickness and health' bit…
