For my last Friday Face post, I did an all-budget look, using products which all came from the supermarket or chemist/drugstore. This week, I thought I’d go the other way, and do a high-end face, using some not-so budget products! I call these my “High End Heroes”, because while I’m willing to experiment with budget products and try out anything and everything, I can’t afford to do that with their pricier counterparts so these products are the ones I love to death and (with a couple of exceptions) always re-purchase when they run out. The products are:

1. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

2. Ilamasqua Ric Liquid Foundation in RF120

I hardly ever use this now: the coverage is fantastic, but the colour is just too yellowy for me, and although I can dial it down with the pure white shade I also bought, it’s just too fiddly to do every day, and I’m prone to adding too much white and looking like a vampire. More like a vampire, I mean. If I could find a better colour match, though, I’d definitely buy it again.

3. & 4 Bobbi Brown Under Eye Corrector and Creamy  Concealer Kit in Porcelain Bisque and Porcelain

5. Benefit ‘Georgia’ face powder/luminizer

6. Anastasia Brow Gel

7. Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion

8. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in ‘Copper Diamond’

9. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner Pencil in ‘Nero’

10. Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer

11. Lancome L’Extreme Waterproof Mascara

12. Diorshow Blackout Waterproof Mascara

13. NARS Orgasm blusher

14. MAC Viva Glam 1 Lipstick

15. MyFace Cosmetics Lip Liner

  1. hey there..
I LOVE Smashbox Photo Finish too! It’s actually the only high end product I use every day and I always re-stock it, no matter what the price and shipping costs are (I live in Germany and Smashbox is not regularly available here :'( ). On a good day (okay, that happens not THAT often, but it happens..) I skip using a foundation after it, because it just makes my skin look.. well “photo-shopped” somehow 🙂

I’ver heard so much about NARS orgasm and would love to try it, but I have dry skin, so I usually go for creamy blushers. Does anyone know if this one would work on dry skin?

    1. I think it would work on most skin types, to be honest, although I don’t have dry skin myself, so I can’t swear to that! They actually do a cream-based version (The Multiple), but funnily enough, I actaully find it very dry! Possibly worth finding a NARS counter and trying it out?

  2. If you don’t mind me asking, why 2 mascaras?? My beloved hypnose is more than enough for me! I’m a bit weird with this, lancome and clarins every day, even for scruffin around! Today I will be shopping for that everlasting foundation *quivers with excitment!*

    1. One (the Lancome) is for length and locking in the curl, the other (Diorshow) is great at adding volume, so they work well in tandem! I don’t always use two at the same time, but the Lancome one is starting to dry out a bit and needs to be replaced, so I’ve been using them both. I sometimes use a third one on the lower lashes, too – I’m a bit of a mascara junkie!

    1. Thanks 🙂 That hairdo was actually a happy accident: I’d tonged it the day before, slept on it, then had it pulled back in a bun for most of the morning while I showered, did my makeup etc (My hair has been really dry and fine lately, and it goes very fluffy after I wash it, so I’ve been trying to leave it two days between washes rather than one). When I took it down, the waves were still there, so I just brushed it out and left it. Probably couldn’t recreate it if I tried!
