The Daily Drawer: December

makeup

I know we’re coming up to halfway through January, but here’s a quick look back at my most-used products of December, as found in my Daily Drawer

Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long-Lasting Foundation in Alabaster

The Lancome foundation I was using in November finally ran out, so I switched back to this, which is my go-to foundation: or at least WAS my go-to foundation until Bobbi Brown decided to discontinue the colour a few months ago! This was my last bottle, and probably won’t make it to the end of the month, sadly. Luckily, although they’ve discontinued this particular foundation in Alabaster (which is the palest shade they do), I notice that the colour is still stocked in the Luminous Moisturizing Foundation, so I’ll probably give that a go soon, because this is really the best colour match I’ve found. As I mentioned in my New Year’s post, though, I’m on a mission to finish up the products I have before buying any new ones, so I’ll try to do that first!

Kelly Brook for New Look blusher and eyeshadow palette

I reviewed these just a couple of weeks ago, so I don’t have much to say about them other than that I continued to use them for most of the month: the Christmas season always brings a lot of social events, and I thought these were appropriately festive, with their subtle sparkle.

Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Nylon Lash Extension System

I’ll be reviewing this very soon: for now, suffice to say that I first purchased it on holiday this summer, then re-purchased last month. It’s expensive, and can be tricky to use but when it works, it REALLY works. Look out for my review coming soon!

Benefit Lemon Aid

Because I’ve been wearing eye shadow more often recently, a primer was in order. This isn’t actually my favourite one (Urban Decay’s Eyehadow Primer Potion holds that title…) I’ve actually been using this because I find the yellow colour cancels out redness well, and is actually pretty good at covering up dark shadows under the eye, or any rogue red patches. That’s not what it’s designed for, and it’s a little too drying to use it as a concealer ALL the time, but it’s definitely handy to have around.

NARS The Multiple in Copacabana

This is another recent purchase which I’ll be reviewing properly soon. It’s a fantastic highlighter for pale skin, and something I will definitely be re-purchasing when it runs out!

These aren’t ALL of the products I used last month, of course, but they were definitely the ones I used most. Now to see what January will bring!
