Boden Bistro crop trousers

Boden Bistro crop trousers

On Wednesday, March 13, in the year 2014, spring finally came to Scotland.

On Thursday of the same week? Spring packed its bags and left.

It was good while it lasted.

Forget Wednesday and Thursday, though: let’s talk about Tuesday. You see, on Tuesday morning, I came downstairs to find a mystery package, in the distinctive Boden packaging, sitting on my desk. I approached it with excitement mixed with some trepidation… I had known, of course, that Boden might be sending me a package: what I DIDN’T know was what would be in it, so you can imagine my joy when I opened it up to find the very pair of gingham trousers I’d been doing The Basket Dance with ever since I first caught sight of them. You’re familiar with The Basket Dance, I assume? It’s when you add an item to your online shopping basket, then remove it. Then you add it again, then remove it. And so on and so forth until finally the item sells out before you get round to buying it… which is exactly what had happened in the Sad Case of the Gingham Pants.

Thankfully, however, Boden came to my rescue, and so did the weather, meaning that I actually got to wear these the same week they arrived, as opposed to several months later, which is what USUALLY happens with my spring/summer clothes. In fact, last summer there were things I didn’t get to wear AT ALL, and if that’s not a tragedy, I don’t know what is.* Of course, I was back in my winter coat and closed-toe shoes the next day, and am currently looking out of my window at the usual rain and fog, but as I said: it was good while it lasted…

*Totally not a tragedy.

  1. Those trousers are absolutely lovely. I’ve been doing the basket dance with new shoes lately, not that I need any new shoes. I’ve recently undertaken a challenge to wear all of my Irregular Choice shoes, of which there are at least 250 pairs, so I don’t need any more..and yet.

  2. Lol.. I’ll be honest. Its a little strange seeing you in blue instead of green or blush! Looks fantastic~ Its a really good shade for you. 🙂

  3. Amber the trousers!!!!! LOVE them!! They must have had your name written all over them. If Boden don’t rename them the “Amber” trouser then there’s no justice in the world.

I can’t wait for the warmer weather either, if only to see you in your summer dresses… nor can I wait to show you off in my redhead bloggers feature on Thursday. I’m just soooooo impatient about everything 😉
