We’re at that stage of summer now where it feels like every sunny day might be the last, so on Sunday we decided to take a quick trip to North Berwick, to make the most of it while we can.
Actually, I’ll be honest: my end-game here was really a trip to IKEA, and the purchase of a certain shoe cabinet I’ve have my eye on for the hall, and which is currently on sale. Oh, and some Skubb boxes, obviously: because if you can go into IKEA and not come out with some random storage you didn’t even know you needed, then you’re a far better person than me, seriously. (I’m joking: I ALWAYS know I need Skubb boxes. I mean, who doesn’t, I ask you?) IKEA just so happens to be on the way to/from North Berwick, though, (By which I mean, “It’s not really, but you can make it be, if you really want to…), and I’m always happy to pay a visit to the Third Happiest Place on Earth (The first being the Magic Kingdom, and the second being Mall at Millenia, in Orlando. Obviously.), so off we went.
It was windy. Veeerrrrrry, verrrrrrrrry windy:
By the time we sat down to lunch I looked like I’d been in a fight or something, seriously. High winds come with the territory here, though (as does me looking like I’ve been in a fight, actually), so we didn’t let it spoil our day, and had a lovely stroll around the harbour and town, before jumping into the car for our visit to the fourth happiest place in the world: IKEA.
OK, I really AM joking now: I have no idea why we always seem to end up visiting IKEA on a Sunday, because we COULD go anytime we want, and I’m pretty sure Sunday is the busiest day of the week there, so WHY? Why do we do it to ourselves? Like I said, no idea, although, to be fair, it wasn’t actually too busy, so I got my shoe cabinet and my Skubb boxes, and I also picked up some other little bits and pieces that I didn’t know I needed until I was trying to put them into the shopping cart without Terry noticing, so I’d consider it a pretty good day, all things considered.
We WILL have to go back soon, though (to IKEA, I mean, although we’ll hopefully go back to North Berwick soon, too). There’s the small matter of those new kitchen cabinets I’ve decided I absolutely CANNOT be expected to live without…
