Boden Marisa dress in 'Baltic'

Boden Marisa ottoman dress in teal

Boden Marisa dress in teal with leather knee high bootsSo, first of all, these photos were taken a couple of weeks ago (Because that’s how we roll now, apparently), so don’t worry – we haven’t had an unexpected slide back into winter, although there’s still plenty of time for that, don’t you worry.

Secondly: when I said I’d bought “a dress” in the Boden sale a few weeks ago, you all knew I meant “two dresses,” didn’t you? Oh good: glad we’re all clear on that, because, yes, that’s what I did.

(I guess thirdly, I’d just like to point out that, although snow creates a pretty handy photo backdrop, it’s not really a great idea to try to take photos while it’s still actually snowing: that’s what stupid people do. Ahem.)

(Oh, what the hell, seeing as I can’t seem to stop adding stuff in parentheses to this post, I’ll also just take the opportunity to say that, no, I didn’t freeze to death while taking these: they were taken literally about 5 steps from my front door, and in 20 seconds flat. Because I might be stupid, but I’m not THAT stupid, seriously. Oh, and I don’t have dandruff, either: I just look like I do because of the snow. OK, I think I’m done now: back to the post…)

Um, I was talking about something here: what was it? Oh yeah: dresses! And my unfortunate habit of buying more of them than is really appropriate.

As I said in my previous post, I’d bought the Elsa Ottoman dress in the sale (And, just FYI, it’s STILL on sale, but thankfully I’ve managed to resist buying any more of them…), and I’d managed to justify it, because, A) ON SALE and B) I’d wanted it for absolutely ages. There was, however, another Boden dress I’d been stalking for months, and it was the Marisa dress… which I love because it has that high-necked, “Jackie O would totally have worn this,” kind of vibe to it, and you all know how much of a sucker I am for THAT kind of thing. Anyway, the story of the Marisa dress is pretty much the same as all of my other dress-related stories: I’d been looking at it for months, but it had sold out in my size almost instantly… then, much to my amazement, it came back into stock at the same time as it went on sale. So, yes, miracles DO happen, people. Sometimes. Only in relation to dresses, though.

Boden describe the colour of this dress as ‘Baltic,” which I guess is pretty appropriate for this post, given that it was, indeed, pretty Baltic outside when we took these shots. I’m REALLY hoping this will be the last snowfall of the winter, but, like I said, I’m not counting on it… and I can’t guarantee that this will be the last Boden dress purchase of the year, either. Sorry, Terry.

  1. That is a gorgeous dress and the colour on you is amazing! Boden ships to Canada now but I am nervous about sizing… do you mind sharing the size you are wearing? I think we are about the same height 5’4…
